The superhero film industry in the latter months of 2024 is set to be a unique playground for Sony Pictures, as the studio will launch two cinematic projects: *Kraven the Hunter* and *Venom: The Last Dance* (Venom 3). Among these, the upcoming installment focusing on Eddie Brock/Venom is receiving the most attention, as it is considered to be the final standalone film centered around this beloved anti-hero.
Recently, Sony released a new trailer for *Venom: The Last Dance*, showcasing stunning action scenes and revealing key details related to the main storyline, including the identity of the central antagonist.
*Venom: The Last Dance* places Venom and Eddie in a precarious situation as they are hunted by two different forces: the Earth’s military and creatures from Venom’s distant home in space. The trailer also reveals that the film’s antagonist is the god Knull—the “creator†of Venom as well as other cosmic parasites. The Eddie/Venom duo possesses something valuable that Knull needs, which is why he sends many ferocious monsters to Earth to hunt them down.
Moreover, despite Sony’s tight-lipped approach regarding the script for *Venom: The Last Dance*, some information suggests that Venom will sacrifice himself in the battle against Knull, concluding his trilogy of standalone films. Certain details in the final segment of the latest trailer seem to affirm this information, with references to the symbiotic relationship between Eddie and Venom potentially destroying the world, or Eddie being forced to make a self-sacrificial decision, akin to “the inevitable fate of any man.”
Tom Hardy will continue to portray Eddie Brock in the upcoming blockbuster, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham. This film is directed by Kelly Marcel, who also collaborated with Tom Hardy on the screenplay.
*Venom: The Last Dance* is set to premiere on October 25th.
