VCS Player Tlong: “From High Expectations to Deep Despair”, Must Seek a New Opportunity
More than a year ago, the community around VCS was extremely excited when player Tlong was introduced to participate in the Fredit BRION lineup (the former name of OKSavingsBank Brion) while still in the Challengers League. Tlong’s previous point of departure did not bring any significant advantage due to the LCK’s reputation for not producing outsiders. However, everything that followed was a disappointment.
Regarding VCS, Tlong has also not been appreciated. Even during the “32 Player” phenomenon, teams did not pay attention to him. In fact, in the last days of 2024, according to some observations, Tlong had publicly posted a “request” to seek opportunities for the upcoming season. This is indeed a very sad reality for a player who once had a high rating and was critically acclaimed for being labeled as “going to LCK for study”.
The VCS Community is Also “Disappointed”
However, the feedback from the VCS audience is quite “disappointed.” Specifically, many opinions suggest that Tlong’s biggest weakness lies in one essential aspect of the game: communication skills. He is too reserved, and even when playing with VCS players, he remains silent in Vietnamese, making Tlong seem “mute”. This is a serious issue, especially in a high-pressure competitive environment like League of Legends.
Moreover, Tlong’s abilities are not typically in the spotlight since he has yet to make an impact in the Korean LCK. Also, VCS’s situation does not seem to improve. It is clear that Tlong has been given opportunities, but the current results show that he “self-destructs” more than objectively assessing his performance from the outside.
Currently, LCP teams have “collapsed” in terms of lineup while VCS continues to be a major challenge. If Tlong continues to struggle as such, this could be a significant loss for him and also a waste of potential for VCS.
