Transfer news 18/11: One LPL team officially “disappears”, LCK fans looking for “missing superstar”

While fans at LPL are extremely worried about the future of the teams, LCK fans are eagerly awaiting a player in this year's transfer window.

One LPL Team Officially Disappears in the Transfer Window

For many years, LPL teams have faced significant challenges in maintaining their operations, especially as the region has declined and emerged empty-handed at the World Championship for many years. Recently, after a prolonged period at risk, an LPL team has officially “disappeared” during the end-of-season 2024 transfer window. That team is Rare Atom.

Rare Atom boasted several notable players like Fofo, Leyan, iBoy, Cube, and Hang

According to the latest announcement from the LPL, Rare Atom will not be present in either the LPL or LDL, and their spot will now be managed by the LPL until another team emerges. This outcome was somewhat predictable. After four years of existence, Rare Atom’s best achievement was placing 3rd in the LPL Summer Split 2021. Such a meager performance has failed to leave a significant impression on the audience.

Many fans acknowledge that this departure was likely necessary. The LPL currently has more teams than any other region in the world. In periods where League of Legends undergoes changes in tournament formats, having fewer teams in the LPL may allow for easier adaptation.

The Transfer Window is Open, but One LCK Superstar Remains Silent

On the LCK side, many fans, especially those of T1, are eagerly awaiting the future of the last remaining player on the roster, Zeus. With Gumayusi officially extending his contract with T1 for another year, Zeus remains the only player whose future is still uncertain in this transfer window.

However, experts suggest that the likelihood of Zeus leaving is nearly impossible. T1 holds numerous advantages, from the stature of the team to fulfilling demands such as salary and competitive potential. It seems that T1 is simply waiting for confirmations from all parties before making an official announcement to the audience.

Zeus’s silence is causing concern among fans, especially T1 supporters

Currently, the end-of-season transfer market has just begun. In the coming time, many blockbuster moves are expected to unfold across various regions worldwide, with the most notable likely remaining within LCK – LPL. For Vietnamese fans, this also includes the VCS.
