Is the “National Game” Liên Quân Becoming Timi Studio’s “Cash Cow”?
Timi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent, has become a household name in the gaming community, especially among Vietnamese gamers. Currently, it is the main studio responsible for developing many popular game titles, including Liên Quân Mobile, the blockbuster game that many fans adore today.
Recently, Timi Studio celebrated its 16th anniversary with the release of a stunning commemorative poster. This poster features a collage of numerous iconic characters from their game products, serving as a clever tribute to the gaming community.
However, it’s noteworthy that within this poster, there is not a single character from AOV (Arena of Valor). This omission has left many Liên Quân fans feeling incredibly disappointed and frustrated.
Many Liên Quân games in Vietnam are feeling neglected due to the “overreliance”
Quickly, this poster has stirred up a buzz in the Vietnamese gaming community. Many opinions suggest that Liên Quân Mobile is currently Timi Studio’s “cash cow,” especially as it appears that the studio’s focus is now on this title rather than addressing numerous prior issues.
In reality, it cannot be denied that Liên Quân is currently “losing ground” in the global market. Besides some countries in Asia, there are still many regions where AOV is thriving, while Western countries have either shut down or neglected the game for an extended period.
Despite this, Liên Quân Mobile continues to grow robustly in Vietnam and has secured the largest Esports prize pool to date. However, such actions have caused the gaming community to feel skeptical about the future of this game, particularly if the main developer does not show interest and care.
