League of Legends Community “Little Garena” as Riot Continues to “Gacha”
Recently, Riot has been continuously releasing Exalted skins (translation: Superb). However, unlike traditional skins, players can only acquire these skins through a “gacha” system via a spinning wheel. Notably, at one point (in this case, spinning 80 times), Riot will guarantee one Exalted skin for the player. The only catch is that the price for spinning 80 times is approximately 4 million VND.
Moreover, the tendency to “insert skins into lotteries” still remains a “characteristic” of Garena in the past. While Riot generally follows the approach of “if there is a skin, it will be sold,” many players have come to experience the “feast” on Garena’s servers during the golden age of “Gà Rán” when Riot increasingly adopted the “gacha” model.
On many occasions, many players have expressed their dissatisfaction since Riot continues to expand and re-release League of Legends in Vietnam, with less incentive to top up than before. Currently, there aren’t many skins available that require players to “top up.” Furthermore, there are no events offering bonus RP when topping up, causing players to feel frustrated.
League of Legends Community in Dispute
Nonetheless, there are still many opposing opinions. Garena has long been accustomed to this “gacha” format, and now that Riot is adopting it, it is not surprising for Garena to return to this model. In some cases, players may spend less money than before if they top up with Garena, especially when there are promotions. However, this is a theoretical scenario that cannot be guaranteed.
Moreover, Garena previously faced many issues while managing League of Legends in Vietnam. And Riot, even now, aside from promotional RP packages, has not addressed the serious matters adequately. Currently, players must spin the wheel a whopping 80 times just to obtain one Exalted skin, which is quite unfortunate.
