The main character is Shenhe, a 5-star character introduced by miHoYo during the initial release of version 2.4. As such, referring to Shenhe as the “most rare” character in Genshin Impact is certainly justified. Aside from Aloy, who is another 5-star collaboration character, Shenhe currently holds the record for the longest rerun in the game.
According to statistics, Shenhe’s last appearance in Genshin Impact was 619 days ago. She has only returned once through a Gacha event during version 3.5. Up until version 5.2, Shenhe has not been brought back by miHoYo through a separate Banner. Among all characters in Genshin, Shenhe has had the longest wait for a rerun.

According to confirmed information from miHoYo, in version 5.3, Shenhe will officially return through the Banner of Sự Ký Cầu Nguyện. This will be a new type of Banner, allowing players to receive 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star items. The Sự Ký Cầu Nguyện Banner was first introduced in version 4.5, which will take place in March 2024. Specifically, this special banner will be a rerun featuring only new characters.
In this context, Shenhe is indeed one of the confirmed names to appear. However, this character will return once more, but she has not yet had a dedicated rerun Banner like many other characters. Nevertheless, this is still a rare opportunity, allowing Genshin Impact players to gather additional resources for Shenhe after a long wait.
