Kog’Maw Proves to be Overpowered in TFT Season 13
It’s no exaggeration to say that Kog’Maw is a champion with skills that are exceptionally well-suited for a ranged carry at a cost of 3 gold. Essentially, Kog’Maw’s abilities in TFT Season 13 provide an incredibly high amount of damage per shot, while also granting stacking attack speed throughout the battle and an increased attack range. Therefore, as long as there is a solid frontline to absorb damage and apply crowd control effects, Kog’Maw can easily wipe out the entire enemy team.
Among the current tank systems, the Vigilant system is deemed the most suitable for Kog’Maw. This is due to the fact that this system includes the powerful duo of Darius and Amumu, which are exceptionally strong in the early game and will help players maintain a significant amount of health and gold. Furthermore, when rerolling at level 7 to upgrade Kog’Maw, players can also promote Scar to three stars, greatly enhancing crowd control capabilities. As a result, the Kog’Maw – Vigilant comp has emerged, showcasing formidable strength in the current meta.
Building the Kog’Maw – Vigilant Comp in TFT Season 13
In the early game, the duo of Darius and Amumu will be the perfect start for players. They ensure good tanking ability, decent damage output early on, and help secure crucial victories. For the backline, Maddie and Zeri are excellent choices for dealing damage in the early game. Both units can effectively utilize Guinsoo’s Rageblade, allowing players to craft this essential item early on.
After reaching level 7, players will begin employing a slow roll strategy to search for and upgrade Kog’Maw and Scar. Other units like Vladimir or Vander are essential additions to activate the 4 Vigilant bonus, ensuring durability. Additionally, players should consider adding any Conqueror unit to earn extra gold, increasing the chances to upgrade the carry.
Once Kog’Maw and Scar are fully upgraded, players should aim to level up to 8 to incorporate Garen into the comp. This champion is quite important in the late game as he activates the 6 Vigilant bonus, increases defensive stats, and provides additional crowd control for the team. This will create a lot of space and time for Kog’Maw to unleash his abilities and deal maximum damage.
Some Tips for Building the Comp
When constructing this comp, players should prioritize crafting Guinsoo’s Rageblade (at least 2 pieces) since both Zeri and Kog’Maw benefit greatly from this item. Additionally, AP-boosting items like Archangel’s Staff and Hextech Gunblade will enable Kog’Maw to deal significantly more damage. As for augment upgrades, Fireball, which reduces enemy healing, or the Kill Chain with its energy regeneration effect, are strong choices for Kog’Maw.
