The “VALORANT 2.0†game causes a lot of controversies?
That is the story of Strinova, a game set to be launched by Tencent in the upcoming December. First appearing on May 28 at the Tencent SPARK 2024 gaming conference, Strinova is evaluated as the Anime version of the VALORANT (Riot).
Specifically, Strinova is a third-person shooter (TPS) game. In this game, players will compete in a 5vs5vs5 formation. All will appear in random positions within the same map area, able to move freely, fight, and score based on each kill to help their team achieve the highest rank.
Overall, Strinova is no different from a localized version of VALORANT. However, the factor that makes Tencent confident in this game is the combat mechanism that allows for flexible switching between 2D and 3D gameplay. This means that players can fight freely like in regular TPS games, while also being able to transform their characters, hide, and move flexibly through various terrains such as walls, pillars, trees, and obstacles…
Does Tencent have bold intentions with their new VALORANT version?
Of course, even if Strinova “copies†VALORANT, players cannot complain because Tencent is now the parent company of Riot. Despite facing many controversies, Tencent seems very determined to develop this project strongly in 2025. Recently, this publisher announced that they will develop Strinova across multiple platforms, from PC, Android, iOS, PS5 to Xbox Series. Specifically, the PC version of the game will be released first on November 21 through Steam, Epic Games, and Windows Store. The Android, iOS, PS5, and Xbox Series versions will appear in 2025.
It is unclear how the public will receive Strinova, but it is clear that Tencent has shown absolute confidence in this project. Perhaps, this is a “full-scale attack†after the surprising achievement of Delta Force: Hawk Ops – the latest FPS blockbuster, which was just released by Tencent on September 26.
Confidence is there, but will the PC version of Strinova perform well enough for Tencent to exploit it on other versions? Let’s continue to follow to find the most accurate answer.
