Tencent Struggles to Combat FPS Game Hacker Issues
The current situation is particularly concerning for the newly launched game Delta Force: Hawk Ops by Tencent. Despite being released only a few months ago, this FPS title has already been severely impacted by hackers, causing significant disruption to the gaming experience for players worldwide.
Just one month post-launch, Delta Force: Hawk Ops shocked the gaming community by announcing a ban on over 1,300 accounts involved in cheating. The game has faced constant disruptions, leading Tencent to intensify its “crackdown” efforts to find a viable solution. However, after two months, instances of hacking and cheating within the game have reportedly continued, as confirmed by Sohu, highlighting the ongoing “chaos” that Delta Force: Hawk Ops is experiencing.
Specifically, from December 20 to December 26, Delta Force: Hawk Ops continued to ban 1,729 accounts, resulting in 415 cheating behaviors involving direct memory access (DMA), leading to 1,323 computers being banned. The Delta Action security team also confirmed the successful ban of 6,331 cheating incidents and the identification of 15,608 suspicious connections.
However, Tencent Still Faces Challenges in Resolving the Issue…
Despite employing various anti-cheating measures, the number of accounts violating Delta Force: Hawk Ops continues to rise. This game utilizes the Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) technology developed by Tencent itself. However, similar to many other FPS games, the rampant cheating issues in Delta Force: Hawk Ops appear to be a persistent challenge that has yet to be swiftly resolved.
Currently, players can only hope for improvements in the near future, as Tencent seeks to implement more effective and long-lasting solutions to enhance fairness and enjoyment for all players.
