Team Secret Continues to Face New Challenges as Hopes of VCS Fans Come to an End
On the evening of November 4th, Team Secret suddenly changed their profile picture and cover photo to a black color, accompanied by the caption “The End,” leaving VCS fans feeling confused. Prior to this, there had been rumors that Team Secret would disband. Just when VCS fans had hope for a comeback, as Team Secret had not yet issued an official announcement, this change in mood felt like a “cold shower.”
Recently, Team Secret has been in a state of flux, marking what seems to be the end of all hope for VCS fans. They released a clip featuring current and former members of the team. However, instead of announcing a promising future, the players and coach Naul sent a heartfelt farewell message to VCS fans.
Many VCS fans believe that this marks the end of Team Secret’s journey in the Vietnamese League of Legends scene. A lot of opinions have been expressed in disappointment, considering the current state of affairs. If they do disband, Team Secret has yet to achieve any championship title in the highest-level League of Legends tournaments in VCS. Under the name Team Secret, they have not participated in any VCS finals.
With substantial investment in the past, Team Secret had quality players to compete for titles. However, after a long struggle, they still ended up with a score of 0 in the final standings. This is indeed a difficult reality to accept, especially when even wealthy teams face challenges entering the esports scene or League of Legends specifically.
Moreover, the “32-player roster” remains a significant burden, and the pressure on the highest-level management at Team Secret must be immense. The merger of VCS into LCP was merely a “last-ditch effort,” and what Team Secret is currently doing seems to be just a natural response to the current and future landscape of VCS.
