It’s hard to believe, but this year marks the 15th anniversary of One Punch Man. While the anime debuted in 2015, we first encountered Saitama and his companions back in 2009. Initially, the creator ONE didn’t expect much when he posted One-Punch Man on a webcomic platform. However, due to its unique humor and storyline, One-Punch Man quickly gained fame in Japan and around the globe.
Recently, ONE surprised fans with an unexpected update. The artist has launched a new chapter of the One-Punch Man webcomic, specifically Chapter 151.
The new chapter was released without any prior announcement, and ONE shared that this update serves as a birthday gift for the fans.
One-Punch Man Chapter 151 Officially Released
Interestingly, the birthday celebrated through this chapter is unrelated to the One-Punch Man series or its well-known characters. Instead, it relates to ONE himself. The artist was born on October 29, 1986. To commemorate his 38th birthday, ONE released Chapter 151 of One-Punch Man.
If you weren’t aware that ONE celebrates his birthday this month, don’t be too disappointed. The artist has remained relatively private. Known by the pen name Tomohiro, he began his journey into web comics in the early 2000s, with very few targets at the start. Before any publishing house took notice, ONE worked on what he loved, and his creations eventually became hits.
Eventually, One-Punch Man received a publishing license from Shueisha with the help of artist Yusuke Murata. ONE and Murata collaborated to create the One-Punch Man manga for Weekly Young Jump, and this superhero tale has since exploded in popularity. From a webcomic to an acclaimed anime, One-Punch Man has become well-known worldwide, yet ONE has not forgotten his humble beginnings.
Regarding ONE, he completed Mob Psycho 100 several years ago, another webcomic that became a global phenomenon after its adaptation into an anime. Currently, he is busy with new projects, including Versus. After executing a short spin-off of Mob Psycho 100, ONE released Versus in 2022. The manga currently has three volumes and can be found in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine.
