One Piece Enters the Final Saga: A Gathering of the Most Powerful Characters
Fans of One Piece know that the Final Saga is where Oda will unleash his full potential with the strongest characters, including the members of the Four Emperors, the Five Elders, Imu, high-ranking members of the Navy, the Revolutionary Army, and even the Holy Knights.
Fans will witness the most powerful characters showcasing their overwhelming strength.
Of course, when discussing the immense power present in the world of One Piece, one cannot overlook the importance of Haki alongside Devil Fruit abilities. The concept of Haki has existed in One Piece for over a decade, and fans have seen many forms of powerful Haki over time. Yet, there are still forms of Haki that remain relatively unknown to fans.
Recently, Oda revealed a special form of Haki that is uniquely used by a single individual, none other than the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates and currently the strongest user of Haki, Shanks.
Types of Haki Known in One Piece
Fans understand that Haki is a spiritual power that exists in the world of One Piece. Haki can be divided into two basic types: Observation Haki and Armament Haki. Both types of Haki are present in every individual in the One Piece world, but they need to be awakened to be utilized.
Simply put, Observation Haki allows an individual to gain a sixth sense. The user can sense things like emotions, nearby threats, levels of power, and the presence of others around them, and even hear voices from afar. It enables them to foresee attacks and impending dangers with the eye of their mind, allowing them to react appropriately and remain extremely vigilant when facing enemies.
Regarding Armament Haki, fans know that this power allows the user to manifest their spiritual strength and use it as a form of armor for both offensive and defensive maneuvers. It also enables users to bypass any defensive capabilities provided by Devil Fruit powers and make contact with the physical body beneath, such as in the case of Logia-type Devil Fruits. In this way, Haki becomes a crucial weapon, especially in the New World.
Additionally, there exists a very rare third type of Haki known as Conqueror’s Haki. However, this type is not found in everyone; only one in a million possesses it. And even among those, only a few can awaken Conqueror’s Haki.
This rare type of Haki is a very special power that allows the user to impose their will upon others. Essentially, it is a power that instills fear and asserts dominance in necessary situations. Conqueror’s Haki can also be used to tame animals, based on the same principle of domination, and can be infused similarly to Armament Haki.
Once infused, Conqueror’s Haki allows the user to deal lethal damage to enemies and elevate the power of their attacks to a new level. According to Kaido, only a few of the strongest individuals can use this power to transmit Conqueror’s Haki.
The above are the conventional types of Haki that have been introduced in the series so far, with their usage depending on the individual wielding them.
Advanced Types of Haki
Beyond the basic uses of each type, Haki can be expanded and utilized in unique ways. For example, the power of Observation Haki can be enhanced to see into the future. This is one of the advanced forms of Observation Haki. Armament Haki can be sent directly inside the target’s body and destroy them from within, even without direct contact. This power is called Advanced Armament Haki and is certainly on a completely different level.
Conqueror’s Haki also has an advanced form, but not all fans are aware of it.
Shanks is a master at utilizing rare and advanced types of Haki. For instance, during the Wano Country arc, Shanks used Haki to incapacitate a powerful foe like Admiral Greenbull from a distance. He emitted a stream of Haki and was even able to communicate with Greenbull through his Haki, as his voice could be heard clearly.
This is a very rare type of Haki that fans have no knowledge of, and Shanks remains the sole user to date. Clearly, this type of Haki is unique to Shanks, and there are certainly many more rare types of Haki.
Shanks Can Block Opponents’ Observation Haki with an Advanced Form of Conqueror’s Haki
The rarest form of Conqueror’s Haki known to fans in One Piece belongs to Shanks. This is a sub-type of Conqueror’s Haki called Conqueror Killing. This Haki was specifically described by Oda when designing Shanks’ character for One Piece Film Red.
According to Oda, Shanks possesses a unique Haki ability, a form of Conqueror’s Haki, that allows him to block his enemies from using Observation Haki and seeing the future. This is an extremely special and rare power.
Although the exact mechanics of this power have not been clearly revealed, what fans know is that it operates on the concepts of threat and dominance. Essentially, this links it to Conqueror’s Haki and establishes it as an advanced form of this type of Haki.
Essentially, Shanks’ enemies cannot see the future, but he himself can foresee events over 10 seconds ahead, striking with incredible speed, which means most battles against Shanks are likely to end before they even begin.
Clearly, Shanks possesses multiple advanced types of Haki, some of which he may not have even revealed yet. Only when Oda focuses on this character and elaborates further will everything gradually become clear.
