The live-action adaptation of One Piece continues the adventure of the young pirate, Monkey D. Luffy, and his crew. Luffy’s dream is to become the Pirate King and find the legendary treasure.

Season 2 of the live-action series will follow Luffy’s journey as he enters the Grand Line in search of the treasure that many desire. Oda is once again overseeing the production as the Executive Producer.

The first glimpse of Drum Island was revealed during Netflix’s Geeked Week event. This is where the Straw Hat Pirates first encounter Chopper, a reindeer with the powers of the Zoan Devil Fruit Hito Hito no Mi, who becomes the crew’s doctor.

After the images of Chopper’s hometown were released, the online community erupted with various opinions about the island’s appearance. While some praised it as stunning, others expressed dissatisfaction with the CGI quality.

“It looks amazing. I’m really excited!”, one fan commented.

Another One Piece fan complained: “If this were an anime scene, it would be fine, but since this is live-action, relying too much on CGI is excessive.”

In August, Oda shared a significant update regarding the second season of the live-action One Piece, revealing that it will include arcs such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island.

This means that Season 2 will not cover the Alabasta arc, indicating that the adaptation will cover fewer chapters than initially expected.

However, the positive aspect is that the pacing of the film will not be too fast. Alabasta is the second saga in the story. The first season covered all the East Blue arcs, except for Loguetown.
