Newcomer anime unexpectedly surpasses Dragon Ball Daima and Kimetsu no Yaiba

This is the most-watched anime at the moment. The anime captivates viewers with a harmonious blend of stunning action and emotional content, making it impossible for them to look away.

When discussing successful anime, one cannot overlook Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. This anime, adapted from the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, has achieved impressive viewing figures, reaching levels that compete with (and at times exceed) those of Dragon Ball Daima.

However, there is a current anime that has surpassed both of these titles in terms of viewing time on Netflix. That anime is Dandadan.

A review from El Comercio, citing data from Netflix, revealed that Dandadan accumulated 7.8 million viewing hours in just five weeks, whereas “Demon Slayer” took twice as long to reach that number, and “Dragon Ball Daima” lagged behind with only 2.3 million hours watched.

Primarily, Kimetsu No Yaiba and Dragon Ball Daima are more frequently viewed on Crunchyroll.

Plot of the Anime Dandadan

In November 2023, the manga Dandadan was announced to be adapted into a long-format television anime produced by Science Saru, directed by Yamashiro Fūga, with the script written by Seko Hiroshi. Onda Naoyuki designed the characters, Yoshimichi Kameda was responsible for designing the supernatural creatures featured in the story, and Ushio Kensuke assisted with the soundtrack.

In early October, the anime Dandadan officially premiered. It did not disappoint; Dandadan made a strong impression on viewers with its colorful style, unique storyline, and clever blend of action, school romance, and supernatural elements.

The story is set in the fictional city of Kamikoshi, Japan, where high school girl Ayase Momo has a strong belief in demons but denies the existence of aliens. In contrast, her classmate Takakura Ken believes in aliens but not demons.

To determine who is right, the two set out to witness the rumors firsthand. Their journey to investigate various mysterious supernatural phenomena leads to one conclusion: it turns out both demons and aliens actually exist.
