Mr. Pips Arrested
TikToker Mr. Pips, whose real name is Phó Đức Nam (30 years old), was recently arrested for leading a fraudulent scheme, utilizing advanced technology, and operating in virtual spaces and online accounts. This incident has caused quite a stir in the online community.
Before the arrest, he was a well-known TikToker with thousands of followers and hundreds of thousands of fans. Specifically, the videos shared by this TikToker depicted experiences of successful investments, a lavish lifestyle, and wealth. From this, he attracted many people who were eager to invest to earn profits.
Reportedly, over 120 notebooks, hundreds of kilograms of gold, dozens of supercars, and 59 luxury brands have been seized from this famous TikToker. The total estimated value exceeds 5200 billion VND.
Mr. Pips’ Confession
Mr. Pips confessed: “When people see a lavish house and luxury cars, it builds trust for the viewers. They get drawn into these images and may easily fall prey to the lure of participation.”
Alongside him, Trịnh Xuân Sơn, a member of Mr. Pips’ team, also admitted: “When new clients join the group, we create multiple fake accounts to communicate with each other, encouraging them to participate in this platform. We tell them there are profits to be made and that they can withdraw money or have someone support them. We use these fake accounts to instill trust in the customers.”
It is known that the groups involved have established 44 offices across the country. In Hanoi alone, there are over 1,900 employees managing and operating professionally, with specific roles assigned. From this, the groups have reportedly earned billions, affecting nearly 2,700 victims.
