Jujutsu Kaisen Does Not Address Gojo Satoru’s Childhood
Gojo Satoru has captured the hearts of countless fans around the world, yet the story in Jujutsu Kaisen hardly touches on anything regarding his childhood. While the manga does reference a portion of Gojo’s past, it primarily explores his high school years and his friendship with Geto.
Fans are left in the dark about Gojo’s parents and what his early life was like. In a recent interview, creator Gege Akutami answered over 30 questions related to the beloved character Gojo.
Questions from Jujutsu Kaisen Fans
One of the questions posed was: “Are Gojo’s parents still alive? Are they also high-level Jujutsu sorcerers?”
Gege responded: “They are alive. They achieved a higher status within the Gojo clan by giving birth to Gojo Satoru, but they are not really as powerful as Jujutsu sorcerers, so they were separated from Gojo when he was young. (Because they could not be involved in his education as a Jujutsu sorcerer).”
Every few centuries, a child with the Six Eyes is born into the Gojo clan. However, the heir must also undergo appropriate training and education to become a powerful sorcerer. Given that Gojo’s parents lack talent, the clan deemed it appropriate to place Gojo in the care of others during his formative years.
Upon learning this information, fans felt heartbroken after discovering the tragic truth about Gojo’s childhood.
