Through the Twitter account of Eiichiro Staff, Oda shared his insights about his trip to Cape Town, South Africa, where the filming of season 2 is currently taking place, to directly oversee the implementation process.
In the images shared widely on social media, fans can see Oda exploring the vast filming locations and engaging in meaningful conversations with showrunner Matt Owens. Oda expressed that the level of commitment and teamwork shown by the crew during the live-action One Piece project is very high.
According to Oda, the details and settings presented there are also very appropriate, aiming to faithfully translate the essence of the manga.
2. Oda Meets New Cast Members as Well as Returning Ones from Season 1
Oda shared his impressions about his meeting with the new cast members for season 2, including Lera Abova, who plays Miss Sunday, and Charithra Chandran, who portrays Miss Wednesday.
When asked about the casting process, Oda mentioned that he selected actors based on images and videos from Japan. However, after meeting the new cast, the results exceeded his expectations and succeeded in convincing him that they were “the right choices.”
