The Absorption Ability of Cell
Cell is an artificial human created by the genius Dr. Gero from the DNA of various fighters, including the Z Warriors, Frieza, and his own father, the Saiyan. His goal is to achieve Perfect Form by absorbing Android 17 and Android 18 while also taking Goku’s DNA. Cell possesses the ability to absorb humans or transform beings into energy, making him significantly stronger.
Cell’s absorption ability is limited to organic beings and can only absorb one being at a time, but the process is incredibly rapid. The exact limits of the material that can be absorbed are not clearly defined.
It is unclear whether Cell can utilize the abilities and techniques of those he absorbs (excluding Android 17 and Android 18 since Cell was created with a preference for those). In DBGT, Goku was able to escape after Cell absorbed him. Additionally, the battle between Gohan SSJ2 and Cell demonstrated that after significant damage, Cell lost to those he absorbed and weakened as a result.
The Absorption Ability of Majin Buu
Buu is a magical being (Majin – devil), so his absorption ability is more flexible and powerful. The limits of Buu’s absorption are not defined, but he can absorb multiple beings at once.
Buu’s absorption ability not only grants him the strength of the absorbed person but also integrates the consciousness and personality of them. Buu can utilize the techniques and abilities of the beings he absorbs, which is far more impressive than Cell.
To escape from beings absorbed by Buu, one must penetrate Buu’s body, breaking the connection of the absorbed being to Majin, which is significantly more challenging compared to Cell.
Comparing the Absorption Abilities of Cell and Majin Buu
While Cell’s absorption ability enhances his own strength and skills, Majin Buu’s absorption ability is more comprehensive, allowing him to gain multiple strengths and abilities simultaneously.
Moreover, Majin Buu can absorb anyone, even those significantly stronger than himself. In contrast, Cell must absorb thousands of beings to absorb Android 17, who had already weakened after battling Piccolo.
Thus, considering strength and versatility, the absorption ability of Majin Buu is generally regarded as superior to that of Cell.
