Details about the anime have been partially revealed through promotional materials, starting with a new wish involving the Dragon Balls. Whether these will be the familiar Dragon Balls or a completely new set exclusive to Daima remains to be seen, but fans can expect to see Shenron in action once again. Daima wouldn’t be part of the Dragon Ball series without some iconic dragon scenes.
Now, fans can get a clearer look at the new Shenron in Dragon Ball Daima with some fresh promotional images of this legendary creature.
What Role Will Shenron Play in Dragon Ball Daima?
The role of Shenron in the Dragon Ball series has evolved over the years since the creature first appeared in the manga. Initially, Shenron was a being that humans could summon only after collecting all seven Dragon Balls. Later, Shenron became a means to resurrect people who had died in Dragon Ball.
Shenron’s wish-granting capabilities expanded throughout the development of Dragon Ball, only to narrow in various ways when Dragon Ball Super revealed that Bulma used these wishes for beauty treatments in her later years.
It seems that Goku and others have started to rely heavily on these Dragon Balls, which remain dangerous if they fall into the wrong hands.
In Daima, the new plot at the beginning of the series reveals that the Dragon Balls will be used to turn Goku and others into mini versions of themselves. This sparks a journey into the Demon Realm, where the Z fighters will likely encounter some new, sinister villains not previously seen in the series.
Dragon Ball Daima is set to officially debut on October 11 in Japan. The storyline and characters are crafted by the late creator of the Dragon Ball series, Akira Toriyama.
Masako Nozawa will lead the series as the voice of mini Goku, with Yumiko Kobayashi as Supreme Kai (mini), Koki Uchiyama as Glorio, Fairouz Ai as Panzy, Showtaro Morikubo as Gomah, Junya Enoki as Degesu, and Yoko Hikasa as Dr. Arinsu.
Dragon Ball Daima will also feature an opening theme titled “Jaka Jaan,” produced by Zedd and sung by CLIEVY and KEEN from C&K. The ending theme, “NAKAMA,” is also produced by Zedd, featuring vocals by AI.
