Dragon Ball Daima reveals the true name of a god

Dragon Ball Daima has revealed the true name of Supreme Kai while they are in the Demon Realm.

When Goku Mini and Supreme Kai Mini travel to the Demon Realm in search of Dende, Dragon Ball fans witness how this action affects various parts of the series.

Significant revelations thus far suggest that every character with pointed ears in Dragon Ball has the potential to originate from the Demon Realm or has roots in the demonic world. Not only the Namekians—who originally came from the Demon Realm before venturing into space—but also the Kais, including the Supreme Kai, hail from the Demon Realm, specifically the Second Demon World.

As Dragon Ball Daima continues to explore the Third Demon World with the latest episode of the animated series, it also reveals the demon name of the Supreme Kai.

His real name is Nahare, and his demon counterparts will call him by that name.

Supreme Kai reveals his true name in the demon world

The Supreme Kai belongs to a demon race known as Glind. This demon race resides in the Second Demon World and often considers themselves superior to the demons living in the Third Demon World. Although it has not yet been revealed how the Glind came to the outside world and are regarded as gods of Earth and other planets in the multiverse, it is clear that the Glind have deep-rooted origins in the Demon Realm itself.

Supreme Kai Shin and Panzy grow closer in Dragon Ball Daima episode 7.

After he helps remove the tracking collar around her neck, she asks what his real name is in the Demon Realm. The Supreme Kai reveals it to be Nahare. Goku states that from now on, he will call Shin by that real name, but both of them immediately realize that calling him Nahare makes them feel uncomfortable.

Why does the Supreme Kai shy away from his origins?

The most intriguing development regarding all of this is that Nahare seems to be detached from his origins. It isn’t until Dragon Ball Daima that he explains that the Glind race emerged from a special tree, and thus they only need water to survive. This is the first time we have heard Supreme Kai discuss his origins in any concrete way, and it is also the first time he admits that he has siblings, namely Degesu and Dr. Arinsu.

Despite coming from the Demon Realm, the Supreme Kai appears to be separated from this place. He does not use his real name until directly asked by Panzy, possibly due to having been in the outside world for too long. The Glind have ventured out into the outside world and taken on a much larger role in the multiverse, as seen in Dragon Ball Super and beyond, but it seems that in doing so, they have also lost what initially connected them to the Demon Realm.

The Supreme Kai is reconnecting with his demonic origins in this new adventure. The reason why Akira Toriyama chose him as one of the central characters for this new anime becomes clearer. The Supreme Kai is here to serve as a bridge between demons and the outside world for the fans, potentially altering the dynamics concerning the other characters in the Demon Realm.
