The official Dragon Ball X account has shared teaser images from episode 12 of Dragon Ball Daima. The images include the new form of Majin Buu, the Namekian Neva, Tamagami Number 1, and Vegeta, who has finally transformed into Super Saiyan 3.
Vegeta Achieves Super Saiyan 3
For the first time in the history of Dragon Ball, Vegeta has transformed into Super Saiyan 3. While we may not necessarily need to see a scene depicting this transformation, it is clear that the Saiyan prince has been training rigorously after defeating Majin Buu. Surprisingly, Vegeta’s SSJ3 form looks very different from Goku’s due to his hairstyle. Instead of the long flowing hair, the transformation gives the Saiyan prince an upright hairstyle.
Having utilized this transformation, Vegeta decimates Tamagami. In a scene featuring Vegito battling Buu, the Z fighter remains crossed-armed throughout the fight. Although Vegeta has never used this transformation in Dragon Ball Super, it is known that he could indeed do so in subsequent films, making it an astonishing plot twist.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to see Vegeta achieve this powerful form since it first appeared in the manga in 1994. However, despite Vegeta transforming into Super Saiyan 3 in some non-canonical Dragon Ball games, the Saiyan prince has yet to officially use this form in any canonical media.
What excites Dragon Ball fans about this is that Vegeta has reached states beyond Super Saiyan 3, including Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan 4, and Super Saiyan Blue.
This revelation has led many Dragon Ball fans to theorize that this form (which can only be used by Goku and Gotenks through a special method) may only be unlocked under specific conditions.
As seen, Goku died when he first transformed into Super Saiyan 3, while Gotenks is a fusion warrior capable of surpassing the typical limitations of a human body.
Other theories suggest that Vegeta may have unlocked this form but decided against using it because Super Saiyan 3 is often described as “ineffective,” despite providing a significant power boost; it also quickly drains the stamina of its user.
Now, we don’t need to speculate about this anymore, as it has been officially confirmed that Vegeta can use the Super Saiyan 3 transformation. We just need to find out why he hasn’t utilized it in Dragon Ball Super.
