Few characters have made as significant an impact on the fan community as Gotenks, the fused Saiyan warrior formed by Goten and Trunks, who appears in the latter part of Dragon Ball Z. The combination of Goku and Vegeta’s two sons has left fans incredibly excited.
Gotenks: A Beloved Character in Dragon Ball
Gotenks features a unique appearance that combines traits from both Goten and Trunks. He has sharp black hair like Goten, but it is longer and spikier, resembling Trunks’ hairstyle. Gotenks has large black eyes like Goten, accented with blue outlines similar to Trunks. He frequently displays an arrogant attitude, boasting confidence and a penchant for drawing attention. Gotenks can transform into Super Saiyan, with power in this form surpassing even Goku’s Super Saiyan 2.
A Special Tribute to Gotenks on the 40th Anniversary of Dragon Ball
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the first Dragon Ball manga, a previously unreleased drawing of this character by Akira Toriyama has been published.
This artwork is part of the “Toriyama Files,” a collection of unpublished or hard-to-find illustrations and sketches by the renowned Japanese mangaka, released on the official Dragon Ball website following the sad news of Akira Toriyama’s passing in March 2024.
This version of Gotenks is entirely new compared to what we’ve seen in the manga or anime. It portrays Gotenks in Super Saiyan mode, but with hair that blends the golden hue of the transformation with Goten’s black hair and Trunks’ purple locks. The character’s facial design also differs in this rendition.
