At the D23 event held on August 10 (Vietnam time), the two leading actors of the film Snow White – Rachel Zegler (as Snow White) and Gal Gadot (as the Evil Queen) – appeared together to engage with the audience. Simultaneously, the team revealed the official teaser trailer of the film to the public on the same day.
Snow White Teaser Trailer.
Lead actress Rachel Zegler shared at the event: “This is the greatest honor of my life. I think any young girl who gets to wear a Disney princess dress for a day, let alone six months, is having the most amazing experience. I am so excited to share this project with you.”
Meanwhile, Gal Gadot spoke about her villainous role: “This is an exciting experience to do something completely different from what I’ve done before. This character is wicked and skilled in magic. We have been singing a lot of different songs. It’s truly a fantastic experience.”
In the trailer, which is over one minute long, Rachel Zegler appears as Snow White with her signature bob haircut, surrounded by a group of seven dwarfs. She also reveals that in this version, the famous Disney princess will not be saved by a prince. “She is not dreaming of true love. She dreams of becoming a leader, a version her late father said she could be if she was brave and loyal. So this is really a wonderful story where young people everywhere can see themselves in it.”
Immediately after the trailer was released, it attracted the attention of a large audience of cinema fans. Many expressed concerns that this film might ruin the beloved fairy tale. Among them, the appearance of Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, being completely different from the descriptions in the original story is what many viewers opposed. Furthermore, some opinions even suggested that the villain Gal Gadot looks even more stunning than the lead actress, despite being 16 years older than her.
Some audience comments on the Snow White trailer:
– In my opinion, all the criticisms of this film are completely reasonable.
– Honestly, the magic mirror has a problem when it doesn’t recognize Gal Gadot as the most beautiful actress in this cast. There’s no reason for the Queen to be jealous of Snow White.
– Gal Gadot looks absolutely stunning as the Queen.
– I find the dwarfs’ appearance quite humorous. They could have chosen actual little people instead of casting regular actors and using CGI.
– The visuals look disappointing, resembling the quality of a streaming film.
