In a small apartment in Hanoi, I – a “gamer” over 40 years old – find myself engaged every day in housework, cooking, and taking care of my family.
My role in the family changed when I started advancing in my career and became the primary breadwinner. Every day, my wife is overwhelmed with work, juggling the pressures of being a successful woman in the workforce. As for me, from a mere office employee, I have transitioned into a homemaker to make decisions that guide our children’s education… gamer who is now struggling with the realities of life in my late forties.
Life continuously spins in a whirlwind, and everyone has their own challenges. This is just the norm, but there are situations that I can’t quite grasp. One of those “storms” is forgetting to buy flowers to worship on the first day of the month because I was too busy playing Black Myth: Wukong.
For me, despite always being busy and tired, I still value this ritual. She believes that spiritual practices bring luck and peace to the family. And when I forget, every little thing suddenly seems like a reason to unleash those “burdens” that I can’t hold back.
I still have great confidence in my awareness and observational skills. However, I can’t understand how I can forget to buy worship flowers. Every time this happens, I feel like I’m losing sight of the beautiful things in my life. Meanwhile, in her eyes, she thinks I’m always a person who misses the smallest yet most important details.
I understand that those words are not just about my failures at work but also the pressure that she has to bear every day. And she is currently dealing with this burden. Sometimes, I am fortunate enough to receive a bit of compliments or a warm glance instead of harsh words.
Recently, my company launched a new chat application, Lotus Chat, which I also use for daily communication.
Alongside that, I also utilize the Lota virtual assistant to remind me about sound notifications, daily reminders, and the first day of the month.
After using the Lota assistant, my role as a “gamer at home” has shifted from just being “forgetful” to making some positive changes. Lota reminds me every day of the tasks I need to do, especially reminding me to buy flowers the day before, helping me never to forget this important ritual again. In fact, I can still refer to Lota when I need assistance.
From now on, the awareness of family responsibilities will be improved. I can now be more confident in managing daily tasks. Of course, my relationship with her will also be more harmonious.
