Significant Achievements of Vietnam’s Mobile Alliance
Despite the recent conclusion of the AIC 2024, the disappointments faced by SPG and other AOG teams this year have left the Vietnamese gaming community feeling regretful. Once again, the AIC was held in Vietnam along with the familiar competitive environment, yet none of our League of Legends teams managed to achieve high accolades.
Competing in the Tứ Kết round, SGP – the number 1 seed of AOG, still fell short compared to other regions. Clearly, although “the arena is fierce,” the domestic landscape is particularly challenging, with competition dynamics and the competitive mindset being factors that any audience can easily observe.
According to statistics, SGP’s losses have set a rather disappointing record, causing the AOG region to fall “out of the top 2” in the international League of Legends tournaments for the first time in years. Since 2017, there has not been a year when Vietnam did not secure at least one title in the APL, AIC, AWC tournaments… This year, GGL’s 4th place in APL 2024 is the best achievement that AOG has managed to secure.
Despite the disappointments, does League of Legends Vietnam still “go all in”?
Looking at SGP’s final performance, it is evident that there was a significant sense of regret, leaving viewers feeling both emotional and frustrated. Throughout the 4 matches, Lai Bang continuously struggled with “missing opportunities,” while players like Kuga, Phoenix, and Khoa often faced challenges with decision-making… These signs of “dropping the ball” are not new but resonate strongly when teams from AOG encounter overwhelming pressure.
Regardless of the meticulous preparations beforehand, there are still factors that could not be justified, causing the League of Legends teams in Vietnam to fall short of expected results. Just as there are instances when “the pressure is high,” teams cannot overcome the stress of crucial matches, especially in international competitions.
Undoubtedly, this is a significant wake-up call for fans and teams within the country – those who are always committed to the strong support of League of Legends Vietnam after the disappointment at AIC 2023. This is the time for teams and coaching staff to seriously reflect on past mistakes and strive for success in upcoming tournaments.
