Viktor’s Transformation After Arcane Season 2
Last weekend, the final three episodes of Arcane Season 2 were officially released, bringing the acclaimed series from Riot Games to a satisfying conclusion. The ending ties up various conflicts, technological issues, and the emotional journeys of characters like Viktor, Jayce, Caitlyn, Jinx, and Vi. While several characters made significant sacrifices, these departures added profound meaning to the story of Arcane.
One of the major highlights of Arcane Season 2 is the evolution of Viktor—both in ideals and appearance. Given that Riot previously stated that the stories in Arcane belong to the original universe of League of Legends, it was inevitable that they would adjust this character to align with the narrative established in the series. Recently, a series of images and videos revealing Viktor’s transformation have surfaced, providing audiences with a clearer view of this character.
According to the leaked videos, Viktor will no longer resemble a robot as he did before. Instead, he will appear as a powerful magical entity created by Arcane energy, surrounded by ancient runes. Additionally, dataminers discovered that the effects of Viktor’s “new” skills will also be redesigned to reflect the motifs of Arcane’s power depicted in the series.
Moreover, Viktor will be added to the upcoming Set 13 of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) themed around Arcane. An image revealed shows that the character Mel Merada will also be included in the “auto-chess” game alongside Viktor. Given the developments in the Arcane series, it’s likely that Mel will belong to the Black Rose race, while Viktor will have a unique race of his own. These updates are expected to debut in the upcoming 14.24 patch of TFT, while Viktor’s rework in League of Legends is likely to launch on November 12 (U.S. time).
This move is seen as a “redemption” by Riot Games to players after they received considerable backlash for not including Viktor in TFT Set 13. Had Viktor “new” and Mel Merada been introduced at the start of Set 13, it would have potentially revealed vital plot details from the Arcane series. Therefore, Riot chose to wait until the entire series was released before unveiling images of Viktor.
After Arcane, Riot will unveil a series of exciting stories
In a recent post on Twitter (now X), Riot co-founder Marc “Tryndamere” Merrill hinted that they will produce more films set in the League of Legends universe. Thus, Arcane will conclude with its second season, paving the way for other intriguing stories. With the incorporation of magical elements and ancient runes in Arcane, many hope that Riot will explore these themes further.
Additionally, stories surrounding conflicts of belief and faith at the peak of Targon, Ionia, or ancient wars, such as the Darkin wars, are also extremely captivating themes. Given the high quality of visuals and storytelling in Arcane, audiences have every right to expect that Riot’s future films will be similar masterpieces.
