Wei Joins BLG as Their New Mid-Laner
On December 5th, BLG officially confirmed their roster for the 2025 season. In addition to the departure of Xun, notable names such as Bin, Knight, Elk, and On have joined the team. This cut was estimated at around 3.5 million RMB (approximately 12.5 billion VND) and is considered an unusually low salary for a player of Wei’s caliber.

From a fair standpoint, Wei had every reason to accept a lower salary to join BLG quickly. It is known that after their MSI 2022 championship, RNG rapidly fell from grace and struggled to maintain their competitive edge, causing Wei to leave the organization. However, the restrictive contract terms did not allow for an easy exit, and this situation caused significant financial strain on the team. Once he transitioned to BLG under a loan agreement after the end of the 2024 season, Wei still found himself in a position to be a top-tier mid-laner in the LPL.
After BLG’s official roster announcement, they have been evaluated as a top-tier team in the LPL. Even with other teams like TES or IG making significant roster changes recently, BLG’s lineup still stands out as stronger compared to theirs.
