According to VTV.vn, at the conference to implement the tax sector’s tasks for 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department announced that the agency has established a task force to exploit a list of individuals who are famous personalities, content creators (YouTubers, TikTokers, KOCs, KOSs, KOLs), and individuals selling products via livestream on social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, YouTube… to conduct tax inspections.
Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department will proceed to inspect and verify the organizations and individuals generating income from e-commerce activities starting from 2025 to assess the tax accordingly.
According to the plan, in the initial phase, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department will carry out inspections aimed at tax collection for 35 businesses and famous individuals.
The department is actively improving communication and support efforts, as businesses and individuals engaged in e-commerce are increasingly aware of their legal obligations regarding taxation.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, the agency currently manages 58,264 individuals engaged in e-commerce activities. This includes 12,959 enterprises and 45,305 business households, with a total successful transaction value of 28,700 billion VND.
