Case of Locking Social Media Accounts
When a social media account posts content that violates national security, such as inciting ethnic hatred, violating the national flag, national anthem, or insulting national heroes; undermining the people’s government, etc., and there is a request from an authorized agency, the account will be locked.
In addition, social media accounts that are temporarily locked three times due to frequently posting illegal content will also be locked.
Moreover, apart from the account being locked, if you post content that violates national security or the law, you may also face administrative penalties or criminal liability as stipulated by law.

Unverified social media accounts will not be discussed or posted
Within 90 days from December 25, 2024, social media platforms across borders and domestic social media must verify the accounts of users accessing social media services via mobile phone numbers registered in Vietnam. Only in cases where the user does not have a mobile phone number registered in Vietnam will the account be verified using personal identification numbers.
In cases where users use social media services for livestreaming for commercial purposes, the account must be verified using personal identification numbers.
Guarantees apply only to accounts that have been verified and are actively posting information (writing posts, commenting, livestreaming) and sharing information on social media.
In cases where users under 16 years old use social media, their parents or guardians must register using their information and supervise the content that the minors are posting and sharing on social media.
