Suspicions Surround Doran’s Sudden Move to HLE Amidst “Drama” with Zeus
On the evening of December 20th, stretching into the early hours of December 21st (Vietnam time), the LCK community and League of Legends fans in Vietnam were stirred by a significant revelation. Many fans unexpectedly discovered evidence indicating that Doran, the rookie of T1, might have signed with Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) even before the transfer drama unfolded.
Specifically, on November 19th (the day the drama occurred), T1 announced Doran’s signing and parted ways with Zeus. Then on the following day, four remaining members of HLE traveled to Japan for a workshop. What is particularly noteworthy here is that Doran was still regarded as a potential hidden card in HLE’s strategy discussions, as he could not sign with Zeus. However, many fans noted that even when HLE was in discussions with him, Doran did not participate in the workshop with the team.
Interestingly, the events transpired quite rapidly, only within about two days after Zeus was announced as a Free Agent (FA). For a player like Zeus, such swift negotiations are unusual. Furthermore, HLE’s side even cited reasons for Zeus’s absence from the team due to national service obligations. This only added fuel to the speculation that “HLE was actually working with Zeus prior.”
Fans Growing More Suspicious of HLE’s Actions Towards Doran
While the time frame is quite short, Doran has also contributed to HLE winning their first LCK title in history since the team’s inception. However, many believe that HLE has been too extravagant with their player acquisitions.
“It seems that the team may have to leave the company in the future, and from BLG to the team to work with the first team, you can really feel the pressure and be very disappointed… So let’s hope for happiness at T1,” commented a fan.
Another individual remarked on FmKorea: “Doran revealed that on the 19th he still did not know where he would go. Yet the workshop was arranged for the 20th. So regardless of how it was, he still would not attend the workshop.”
The unfolding situation is drawing considerable attention from the League of Legends community in Korea as well as fans of the LCK in Vietnam and globally.
