The Devil Fruits in One Piece are the source of power for pirates. Haki is one of the strongest abilities in the series, and characters with Haki tend to avoid direct confrontations. However, there is one Devil Fruit that stands out on the side of the Marine: the Pika Pika no Mi.
To gain a deeper understanding of the world of One Piece, beyond the manga, fans can also explore SBS (Shitsumon o Bosh Suru, meaning “I’m asking a question”).
This is a special section where Eiichiro Oda answers various questions from fans about different topics. The questions mainly revolve around the storyline and the parts that readers find hard to understand, but they can cover anything.
One Piece Volume 110 is set to be released on November 1, 2024, and will include a new Q&A segment from Eiichiro Oda. The questions and answers will be translated and shared by a prominent One Piece fan account on Twitter/X.
One of the questions posed was: “In chapter 1103, Luffy is unable to move, but in chapter 1106, he has already eaten. Who was it that fed Luffy?”
Oda cryptically responded: “In chapter 1103, Luffy begins to eat randomly. When Luffy says ‘fed’, who was it that replied? Was it Sanji or Franky, who were near him? Kizaru and Sentoumaru were also present…”
Whoever it was, they were never discovered. The action unfolded as if it were performed with ‘light speed’, even I couldn’t see it…
While Oda avoids direct answers, the implication behind “light speed” is quite clear. Sanji and Kizaru both move incredibly fast, to the point that an ordinary person wouldn’t be able to see them.
However, there is only one character in One Piece related to light, and that is the Marine Kizaru, who has the Pika Pika no Mi Devil Fruit.
The theory regarding Kizaru helping Luffy has circulated in the fandom since the chapters were released. Kizaru not only has to retrieve Vegapunk but also fights against Sentoumaru, whom he has been pursuing since his youth. As a result, the internal conflicts of the Marine Kizaru have been meticulously crafted.
In the context of Luffy eating, a boat alongside the Marines is also depicted, suggesting that others are also consuming food on the boat. This boat is similar in style to Kizaru’s from earlier chapters. The fact that Kizaru aids Luffy, a Yonko and one of the main targets of the Marines, poses a serious challenge to the Government.
Kizaru’s whereabouts have yet to be clarified following his emotional confrontation with Akainu in chapter 1124. However, Oda undoubtedly has significant plans for the Marines as they continue to play an important role in the narrative.
