The manga One Piece is currently unfolding in the Elbaf arc, where we finally encounter Loki, the prince of Elbaf. This character was previously mentioned as someone wanting to meet Lola, the daughter of Big Mom. However, the design of the actual character of the prince from Elbaf does not quite resemble the shadowy figure we saw earlier.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Elbaf is that it draws inspiration from Viking culture in Northern European mythology, and Loki is the name of the trickster god in this lore. Over the years, many works have drawn inspiration from Northern European mythology to create memorable characters, including those in Marvel.
Loki is a well-known character in the Marvel universe and even has his own dedicated series on Disney Plus. In this series, Loki is referred to as Variant L1130, a version of Loki captured by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a group responsible for managing the timelines of the multiverse.
It could be a coincidence or perhaps Oda has a master plan; the character Loki in One Piece has also made an appearance in Chapter 1130.
A prominent One Piece fan shared on Twitter/X:
“Oda is a genius. In the MCU, Loki is Variant L1130, a character that has a striking resemblance to the version that appears in One Piece.”
“No one can say that Oda didn’t intend to do all these things. He is either the most talented person or just the luckiest one.”, another user commented.
“On one hand, I can’t understand why Oda would plan this way, but on the other hand, this could be seen as an incredibly coincidental coincidence. No matter what angle you look at it from, I am truly amazed,” stated another user.
