On the afternoon of December 4th, the media reported that the renowned writer Quỳnh Dao, popularly known as the “Mother of the Palace,” from Hoà n Châu Cách Cách, passed away at the age of 86.
According to various media sources in Taiwan (China), Quỳnh Dao was reported to have died at her residence at around 1 PM today (December 4). A representative from the relevant authorities confirmed that when they arrived at the scene, Quỳnh Dao had stopped breathing and was no longer alive.
Born in 1938 in Shanghai, China, Quỳnh Dao is renowned as one of the prominent literary figures with numerous famous novels in the romantic genre. Additionally, she is known as the “Mother” of various iconic adaptations such as: Hoà n Châu Cách Cách, Tân Dòng Sông Ly Biệt…
In 1959, at just 21 years old, Quỳnh Dao got married and had one son. This marriage ended in divorce five years later. In 1979, she married for the second time to Mr. Bình Hà m, a former editor-in-chief of the magazine “Hoà ng Quán.”
