Tencent’s New Hit Game Accused of Unauthorized Image Borrowing?
Recently, Tencent launched Delta Force: Hawk Ops – an incredibly engaging FPS game. However, contrary to expectations, this title has encountered numerous tangled issues.
For instance, just one month after its release, Delta Force: Hawk Ops surprisingly faced rampant hacking and cheating problems. Tencent had to take action, banning over 1,300 cheating accounts within just a few days. As a result, the game received mixed reviews, causing a significant number of players to lose interest and “turn their backs” after trying it out.
Just when it seemed the game had endured enough “trials,” Delta Force: Hawk Ops found itself embroiled in a new drama. Specifically, it remains unclear how Tencent decided to use official images from the game Battlefield 2042 to promote their own title.
Tencent’s Official Response
It was noted that images from Battlefield 2042 appeared in the version update window of Delta Force: Hawk Ops. This detail quickly caught the attention of players, and Tencent received a barrage of accusations of plagiarism.
In response to public outcry, Tencent acknowledged this mistake and expressed a sincere apology to Battlefield 2042 and the entire gaming community. Tencent also confirmed that they would promptly remove the offending images and conduct a thorough investigation of those responsible to enforce strict actions as per regulations.
