T1 Officially Speaks Out on Transfer Drama with Zeus
In the early hours of November 22 (Vietnam time), T1 made an official statement regarding the situation involving Zeus. The CEO of the team, Joe Marsh, asserted that T1 had always made efforts to retain Zeus and maintain the ZOFGK roster. According to Joe Marsh’s comments during an AMA posted on FmKorea, T1 was even willing to meet Zeus’s financial demands.
However, the representatives of Zeus requested that T1 allow him to become a Free Agent to explore his market value. Additionally, according to the CEO, Zeus’s side required that all negotiations conclude by 3 PM on November 19. T1 announced they were on their way to a face-to-face meeting, only to be informed shortly after by Zeus’s team that everything was over.
Joe Marsh also acknowledged that the decision to choose Doran as a replacement for Zeus was unanimously supported by all three coaches, who had completed negotiations with Mata but had not yet made an announcement. “He is the player the coaches want on the roster for the next season to replace Zeus,” CEO Joe Marsh stated.
He further emphasized that “T1 will always have a home for Zeus” and noted that the legacy left by this player would be closely tied to the history of the 2024 World Championship champions.
Meanwhile, ThePlay, the representative for Zeus, also commented shortly after CEO Joe Marsh’s AMA was published. Specifically, ThePlay asserted: “Many aspects presented by T1 are exaggerated and inaccurate.”
Fans Outraged by Zeus and His Representatives’ Behavior in Transfer Drama with T1
However, fans believe that Zeus’s representatives should have responded even before T1’s CEO AMA was released. Clearly, the ongoing drama is significantly impacting Zeus’s image among fans. Yet, ThePlay remained silent until T1 spoke out, only then taking action to respond.
Some fans even discovered that ThePlay set a deadline of 3 PM for T1, claiming it was “a request from HLE.” However, HLE later denied this information.
Additionally, it is evident that Zeus is not entirely “innocent” in this situation. He could have exerted pressure or requested more time from his representatives for T1, but he did nothing. Many believe that Zeus was clearly prepared to leave, and the negotiations with T1 seemed merely like a procedural task he had to follow.
One more thing is easily noticeable: the transfer drama could continue for a while, and this is truly unfortunate for the greatest team in League of Legends history.
