Here is the list of the most disliked sagas in the Dragon Ball anime series compiled by fans.
In this list of Dragon Ball sagas, you will find that some sagas are not official or have poorly designed characters, making the storyline less engaging.
1. Black Star Dragon Ball Saga
The Black Star Dragon Ball Saga is often deemed uninteresting and dull, primarily because it lacks dramatic tension and intense action scenes. Throughout the saga, viewers are subjected to the annoying sounds of Pan, which makes this first saga in Dragon Ball GT particularly unappealing.
2. Garlic Jr. Saga
The Garlic Jr. Saga is entirely a filler saga, slotted between the Frieza Saga and the Trunks Saga. This saga only appears in the Dragon Ball Z anime. Since the anime caught up with the manga towards the end of the Frieza Saga, the producers decided to extend the duration with this saga, which is based on the events from the film Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone. Although it may seem somewhat pointless, it is still one of the more beloved sagas in Dragon Ball Z.
3. The Great Saiyaman Saga
The Great Saiyaman Saga is the third saga of Dragon Ball Z. It revolves around Gohan’s life and the remaining members of the Z Fighters a year after the Cell Games.
It’s interesting to explore Gohan’s high school life. Instead of the intense battles, we see Gohan focusing on school and solving everyday issues while taking on the persona of Great Saiyaman (a superhero alter ego to hide his identity from classmates during school in Satan City).
And if you believe Gohan would turn into a great hero despite all the previous character development, then that would be entirely incorrect.
4. Super 17 Saga
Dragon Ball GT has been widely disliked by fans for various reasons. Not only because it was not created by the original author Akira Toriyama, but also because it contained many nonsensical storylines. The Super 17 Saga is one of them. We witness the return of Android 17, which is entirely unjustified after the Cell Games Saga.
This saga remains disappointing, especially considering that Android 17 was a character built with significant depth and compelling storytelling. It also stands out as the shortest arc in the entire Dragon Ball series for some inexplicable reason.
5. Red Ribbon Army Saga
Although the Red Ribbon Army segment of Dragon Ball features a lot of action, it tends to become rather tedious to follow. Tao Pai Pai is one of the few memorable characters from this saga; without his presence, the entire storyline would likely turn into a “boring feast.”
Many fans find it difficult to understand why this saga is regarded as the least favored, as it lacks many elements that make it engaging. The majority of the characters are forgettable and do not resonate well, and the plot is rather simplistic…
